50k Donation Match Drive

Imagine you're a child, 7 or 8 years old, and tonight you're going to bed hungry. In fact, tomorrow you don't know where you'll go to sleep, but you know you're going to go to school in the morning. This is the situation that our families in Wyandotte County deal with. There are hundreds of families dealing with poverty, and what they need is a hand-up, an investment.

We want our children in Wyandotte County to have the opportunity to graduate high school and move onto college and career, to have the opportunities we all want for our children. We have a unique opportunity now; a generous donor has given us a matching funds opportunity. For every dollar up to $50,000, they will match our investment in the families in Wyandotte County.

Over the last 8 years, Avenue of Life has worked with over 55 partner agencies, including our school districts and other agencies in the community, to help children and their families move out of poverty into stability. These families face issues such as transportation, food insecurity, mental health challenges, unemployment, and home instability. We get the opportunity to invest in the lives of these children and their families, moving to a place of stability and peace.

To find and maintain stable, affordable housing, your investment with this matching grant will allow us to serve 50-100 additional families. When these kids go to school, they're not hungry; they're able to focus on their education. When they go to school, they're able to play and interact with other kids, because they're not afraid of where's the food going to come from and where they're going to sleep at night.

We know that if you're reading this post, you're a generous person and we're going to ask that you'd use this generosity to invest in the lives of children and families in Wyandotte County. This matching funds opportunity will end at the end of September. Please go to our website at www.avenueoflife.org and click on the Donate button. Thank you so much for investing in the children and families of Wyandotte County.
